Let the experts at Pettis Pools help make your dreams come true. Here’s a helpful guide.
Choosing the perfect Hot Tub size
Most spa manufacturers offer hot tub collections in a variety of models and unique features and styles. For instance, the American Whirlpool and Vita Hot Tubs are designed to fit any occasion or need. You’ll want to compare each series, the various sizes in a series, and the cost. It can sometimes feel overwhelming so consulting with one of our sales professionals is best. We can help you choose the perfect tub for you and your family and make the process fun and easy!
It’s important to shop according to your budget and the number of people that will enjoy your spa on a regular basis. For instance, if you have a large family or like to entertain, consider the Monarque Vita Spa. If you prefer a more intimate setting for one or two, look at a smaller unit like the Amour Vita Spa.
When looking for size, most hot tub manufacturers offer three standard sizes to choose from in each series; small: 2-4 people, medium: 5-6 people, and large: 7+ people. Many hot tubs models fall into either a 7’x7’ footprint or an 8’x8’ footprint. However, smaller models are available too if you’re dealing with limited space.
Once you’ve decided on the ideal hot tub model to meet all your needs, you may also want to consider the different entertainment options available. Popular accessories like cover lifters, steps, and spa side umbrellas complete your retreat for that ‘vacation’ feel.
Last, but not least, you’ll want to make sure the size tub you desire can actually be delivered and fit into the location you’ve chosen.
Choose a spot large enough with a robust and sturdy foundation to place your new spa. Be sure to leave extra space for easy maintenance access, plus an area that will accommodate the spa cover lifter.
Before your scheduled delivery, walk through the route, measure the area and make sure there’s plenty of clearance. Compare your measurement to the spa’s dimensions. Each spa comes with pre-delivery instructions, which provides all the necessary information including size, preparation, and installation tips.
The size of the spa will determine the installation requirements. All spas require a sturdy foundation and a level surface. However, a large, heavy spa will need at least a 4” thick concrete slab. For those housing the spa on a deck, make sure your deck is built at least 16” on center. It’s always best to have a qualified contractor look at your deck before delivery if you have any doubt. Remember, spas are HEAVY!
Whether looking for a small intimate spa or a large family size spa, Pettis Pools will assist you every step of the way. We’ve been selling hot tubs since 1972!
