Love Was in the Water!

This is the first in an occasional series of posts that highlights some of the people and stories from “behind the scenes” here at Pettis Pools & Patio.
At Pettis Pools & Patio, you never know what’s going to happen—including love!

Jeff Ames had been working at Pettis Pools & Patio heading service crews and also working on inground pool construction for years. His bright personality made him beloved by customers, but it rubbed off on one other employee in particular, Christy Turpyn who worked as a service coordinator.
When Christy first came on board, Jeff caught her eye so she arranged to gain more hands-on knowledge by going out with a service crew to learn more. (Of course, she managed to head out with Jeff’s crew!). As she learned about opening pools for the season, Jeff learned more about her and they were mutually smitten. After a group dinner date with coworkers, the two began dating and eventually became engaged.
After the ceremony on their wedding day, they came with their wedding photographer and had some photos taken at Pettis as well. Christy says, “We met at Pettis Pools and we wanted to have some of our pictures taken there on our wedding day.”
It just goes to show that a family business that is careful to make great hires can even play matchmaker once in awhile!
PS. Jeff and Christy bought a house that has a Pettis inground pool—and on May 7^th of this year they will celebrate their 6^th wedding anniversary! Congrats Christy and Jeff. We love the story of how you two met at a pool company and took the plunge!
