Spring has come early to Rochester this year! The flowers are opening, the trees are blooming, and it’s the perfect time to start planning where to put your new above ground pool. We know there are many things to think about when purchasing a pool; so here are a few vital questions to ask yourself when determining which pool will be right for you.

1. What size pool will fit your needs?

There are two components of your answer to this question: How much space does your family need to relax, swim and enjoy the pool comfortably? and What size pool will fit in your yard? Pools range in size and shape so no matter what your answers, we can help you find a pool that fits.

Be sure you also find out your town’s specific zoning requirements that must be met. This way we can ensure that we look at pools that will be able to be built and pass inspection.

2. What height pool will be suitable?

There are some determining factors that will help you decide on the pool height that is right for you: How are you going to enter your pool? Will you have a deck or will you be entering from the ground? How deep would you like you pool? There are 3 different heights that are offered at Pettis 48”, 52” and 54”. Anything less than 48” does NOT meet local codes—and you won’t find them in our stores!

3. How many years are you looking to enjoy your pool?

This question helps to determine what quality level pool is right for you. Just like almost everything else, you get what you pay for; and if you’re looking for longevity it is worth investing just a little bit more to have a higher quality, longer lasting pool.

One thing that we can’t stress enough, if you are definitely planning on a pool purchase this season, don’t wait! Last year we had a late start and many people weren’t able to get their pool installed until the end of the season. Come in right away so that we can add you to our list of installs. The more you put it off, the longer you will have to wait. We want you to be enjoying the cool, refreshing water of your new pool before the heat of summer gets you down.
