Parent-to-parent, here’s a little advice: even if your kids act like they don’t want you around, they really do. They want to know you have an interest in their lives. It makes them feel loved and cared for. So when you’re trying to talk to them about their day and they’re giving you absolutely NOTHING in return, don’t give up. Just  … change your tactics.
A great way to spend some quality time with your kids is in the hot tub. Designate it a “No Screen Zone” to eliminate distractions, and start those conversations. It may be rocky at first, but as the hydromassage works its magic and everyone starts to let go of the stresses of the day, the conversation will start to flow.
Be prepared with some conversation starters and open-ended questions to get that quiet child to open up. You might be very surprised at what you learn about your child’s hopes and dreams, secret crushes, and so much more. It’s the moments like this that make all the challenges of parenting worthwhile; and it’s all made possible by your hot tub.
Make family hot tub time a regular occurrence, too. Weeknights after homework and an hour or two before bed, will not only build connections – it will help everyone find deeper, more restful sleep. Weekend morning spa time is a great way to plan your family’s activities. Doing something active together like a long bike ride or a hike? Be sure to spend some time in the hot tub when you get home so you can share stories while your bodies recover.
The short story is, your hot tub is not just for rest and relaxation. It’s a super convenient and fun way to grow closer to the ones you love the most. If you don’t have a hot tub, stop by our showroom or give us a call; we’d love to help you find the spa that’s right for your family.
